FREQUENTLY ASKED

Documentation-reader questions, answered.

What concentration is this methylene blue?

1% pharmaceutical-grade methylene blue solution in a 60 mL dropper bottle. 10 mg per 1 mL serving (~20 drops).

How do I take it?

Sublingual: place 1 mL under the tongue, hold 30–60 seconds, then swallow. As directed by a qualified healthcare provider.

Should I start with a lower dose?

Yes. First-time users may begin with 5 drops (2.5 mg) and titrate upward over several days to assess tolerability.

Why will my tongue and urine turn blue?

Methylene blue is a deep blue dye. Temporary cosmetic staining of the tongue, mouth, urine, and stool is expected and resolves as the compound is excreted.

Can I take this with antidepressants?

No. Do not use with SSRIs, SNRIs, MAOIs, tricyclic antidepressants, lithium, or any other serotonergic medication. Methylene blue is a potent MAOI at physiologic doses and combination can precipitate serotonin syndrome.

Who should not take this?

Anyone on serotonergic medications; pregnant or nursing individuals; those with G6PD deficiency, severe kidney impairment, or under 18 years of age.

How should I store it?

At room temperature, away from direct light. Re-cap tightly after each use.
